Adaptation of H.P. Lovecraft's The Shadow Out of Time Greenlit
The writings of H.P. Lovecraft have found a new life with movie and television adaptation making the popular writers Cthulhu Mythos available to a wider audience. Weird Howard, a production company based in Humboldt County California, has recently greenlit it's own adaptation of a popular Lovecraft story The Shadow Out of Time to be directed by Gordon Clatworthy. With adaptations like The Color Out of Space (Richard Stanley 2019) The Call of Cthulhu (Sean Branney 2005) and other tales taking place inside the Mythos such as HBO's Lovecraft Country the writers popularity seems to be at an all time high. "I've never been more excited to see the Cthulhu Mythos make its way to the big screen! It's always special seeing the stories I love getting made." Gordon Clatworthy has said. Clatworthy, known for his commercial work and short films, is getting his chance to make his dream of adapting a Lovecraft story into a feature film. "It's something I've always wanted to do, and something that seems more and more needed when we look at the state of horror films now. We need more cerebral films, ones that take their time and leave you thinking about them long after you finish watching them." The Shadow Out of Time is set to cast early 2021 with principle photography taking place mid to late 2021. www.WeirdHoward.com
