Lovecraftia: Crafting Lovecraft is a documentary exploring the extraordinary influence of H.P. Lovecraft on generations of writers, filmmakers, artists, actors, musicians, poets, and creators. From the ancient gods of the Cthulhu Mythos to visions of forbidden knowledge, unknowable entities, and humanity’s insignificant place in an uncaring universe, Lovecraft’s ideas helped define what we now call cosmic horror.
Through interviews with creators inspired by his work, Lovecraftia examines how Lovecraftian horror continues to evolve through literature, independent film, visual art, tabletop role-playing games, audiobooks, and contemporary horror. Writers expand the Cthulhu Mythos with new tales of cosmic terror. Filmmakers transform seemingly unfilmable stories into cinema. Artists give form to creatures that were never meant to be fully understood.
